‘The GAP analysis – possibilities of economic empowerment by applying sustainable business models following the COVID-19 pandemic in the Republic of Serbia’, is intended to assist policy makers and businesses to make informed decisions about transitioning to circular economy. The publication maps potential entry points for circular initiatives, based on the findings of a survey, conducted among 80 companies across the country. The GAP analysis contains an Action plan aimed at building a resilient economy by introducing regulatory, promotional, economic and institutional changes. Since 2017, the OSCE Mission to Serbia through the DemSec project has been supporting the Public Policy Research Centre in launching annual competition for the best human security essays for students from Belgrade University. Given the global impact of Covid-19 on all aspects of social life, this year’s Call for Papers focused on the effects of the pandemic on human security and the threat posed by the virus on individuals in a variety of fields. All three papers chosen this year were written by women and all three examine Covid-19 as a global phenomenon and a threat to security. This publication is available in Serbian and in English.

The publication gives a comprehensive overview on the legal and strategic framework on sexual harassment in Serbia together with specific data on prevalence of sexual harassment deriving from the vast of data collected in the OSCE-Wide Survey on Well-being and Safety of Women in 2019. The analysis serves as a baseline for developing policy dialogue between civil society, academia and relevant state institutions on this serious topic that primarily affects working women. The position paper contains a set of recommendations for relevant stakeholders responsible to combat sexual harassment in Serbia.

The OSCE Mission to Serbia supported the Institute for Improvement of Education in producing comprehensive Manuals that will help teachers in developing the new concept of civic education, introduced in Serbian schools gradually throughout 2018 and 2019. The Manuals cover four areas of civic education: human rights, democratic society, processes in the contemporary world and civic activism. The aim of these publications is to give teachers a wider insight into the above mentioned areas, to clarify the most important issues and to provide teachers with ideas on how they can implement relevant activities with students. It should also instigate the teachers to explore various further teaching techniques. The Manuals are part of the OSCE Mission to Serbia’s wider efforts to support enhancing the rule of law values among youth. The publication is available in Serbian language only.
